We want to encourage you to use our new "Submit Your Event" form so that YOU can add your club and local events to the MHC Events Calendar. Anyone can submit info on local competitions, fairs, trail rides, activities, fun days, educational events - from minis to heavy horses - and more! Just fill the information about your event into the form and we'll get it added in to the MHC Events Calendar! Let's try to get the calendar reflecting a complete picture of how many equine related activities actually happen across Manitoba each year!
We also want as much input from your club and region across Manitoba as possible so please send news releases, award winners, show results etc to [email protected] as we will also be using this type of info as part of our local news pages in The Canadian Horse Journal and on our Facebook page and website. We are here to promote YOUR club!

Fun and exciting Continuing Education opportunity
Manitoba Horse Council in conjunction with Nakamura Judo Club will be offering a short course on how to fall and roll effectively. These skills can minimize the risk of injury and improve confidence in riders of all ages. If you cannot remember the last time you did a somersault, your last “gravity assisted dismount” was less than graceful or if you simply want to broaden your skill set this course is a great opportunity. The course will be taught by 3rd degree black belt and certified Competition Development Coach (NCCP Level 3) Airton Nakamura.
Where: Nakamura Judo Club , 1000 Notre Dame Ave, Winnipeg Mb (second floor) Please see the map of where you can find parking (it is marked in red). There is parking available on the side of the building coming from the back lane of the building. Parking on the fence side is not allowed. Parking is also available in the back of the building and in the empty lot in the back of the building.
When: 6:30 – 7:30 pm April 18, 25, and May 2, 2017. The course format of three short sessions is to provide for better retention of skills than one longer session.
Attire: Please wear comfortable clothes like t-shirts, sweat pants or anything that allows free motion of the body. We will all be in bare feet since we will work out on top of judo mats. It is also recommended to bring water as there are no canteen/vending machines on site.
Cost: $20 for MHC members, $25 for non members (inclusive of all three sessions)
Registration: Registration form must be received by April 12. The club waiver MUST be filled out and brought to the first class (download Waiver form here and print).
