Who: All current members in good standing with MHC

Amount: $5,000,000 Personal Liability insurance

$ 2,500 Medical Expenses

What: Third-party liability insurance defends against lawsuits and/or settlements for bodily injury or property damage arising out of the non-commercial ownership and/or leasing of horses in the event that no other insurance is in effect. (Eg. If your horse were to cause harm to a third party). This policy will act as an excess coverage if any other insurance is in place. This policy is valid worldwide. Who: All current members under the age of 70 in good standing with MHC

Amount: $25,000 Accidental Death & Dismemberment

Membership Benefits

2018 Membership runs from January 1, 2018 until December 31, 2018. It is important that you renew by December 31st to keep your insurance coverage active! We hear that many members wait until show season, but by doing this, 3 or 4 months of insurance coverage is lost. IMPORTANT - If you have held a membership in previous years but allowed it to lapse, please RENEW your membership rather than purchasing a new one. If you need to renew a lapsed membership to cover the last few months of 2017 and the full year of 2018, please call the office for a special offer. Manitoba Lotteries Bingo Volunteer Funds Program

MHC revised its Bingo Policy in order to meet Sport Manitoba and Manitoba Lotteries requirements as of 2017. Clubs must follow this policy in order to receive bingo funding from MHC, as this funding is allocated to MHC by Sport Manitoba from Manitoba Lotteries.

Club Membership

Equine clubs are the foundation of Manitoba Horse Council and receive one vote on any issue at the MHC Annual General Meeting and/or Council of Clubs meetings. Some items subject to voted approval of MHC member Clubs include: • Provincial or local issues • National issues requiring a Provincial vote • Election of MHC Board of Directors • Approval of MHC By-Law changes

Membership of Manitoba Horse Council's (MHC) club network is for provincial, regional, and local equine organizations (need not be based in Manitoba) which engage in the promotion and development of equestrian sport and recreation activities in Manitoba and which meet the following criteria: 1. Have a minimum of 10 members; 2. Are not-for-profit, volunteer based and democratic; 3. Have a written constitution; 4. Hold regular meetings; 5. Hold elections of directors and officers; 6. Maintain financial records which are available on request to MHC. Membership benefits

MANITOBA HORSE COUNCIL ANNOUNCES THE 2016 COACH OF THE YEAR - DANAE MARTIN

Good teaching is the core strength of our sport. Everyone, from Recreation Enthusiasts to High Performance Athletes, can and do benefit from excellent coaches.

Danae was nominated for this award, and recognition, by members who are connected with two different Manitoba Horse Council clubs. Her nominations were filled with positive comments about her commitment to the sport, her dedication to helping others be the "best they can be" and her personal skill level!

Danae has been a powerful influence on many levels. She sits on the Manitoba Horse Trials board, the Manitoba Horse Council board and she works tirelessly to assist Equestrian Canada in the development and implementation of high coaching standards for the sport.

Her coaching ability shows clearly in her results. Danae consistently has students who achieve High Point Awards in their area of choice when it comes to awards evenings. A number of Danae's Eventing students actively compete in the USA to further their showing experience and to ...

 

MHC Member Programs

All MHC members are eligible for participation in member-only programs that MHC provides locally. These courses include Theory courses, Coach Updates , Officials Updates , Athlete Development courses / clinics , Recreation programs , and Learn to Ride programs . MHC member athletes are also eligible for participation in MHC’s annual Manitoba Equestrian Championship .

MHC Senior members (age 18+) receive voting privileges at the MHC Annual General Meeting and/or Council of Clubs meetings.

Anyone can submit details of local competitions, fairs, trail rides, activities, fun days, educational events; all breeds, all disciplines. Just enter your event information into the form and we'll add it to the MHC Events Calendar. We aim to reflect a complete spread of equine related activities occurring across Manitoba each year.

We also want as much input from Manitoba clubs (and others) so please send news releases, award winners, show results etc to [email protected] . We will use this news as part of our local news pages in The Canadian Horse Journal and website. We can also share your news with our Facebook pages. We are here to promote YOUR club!
