Winnipeg, MB, March 4, 2025 - The Manitoba Horse Council is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr. Larry Carefoot as the new Equestrian Facility Manager, effective immediately.
Mr. Carefoot brings a wealth of experience in engineering and facility management, with over 30 years in the field. His previous roles include serving as Chief Engineer and Assistant Director of Facility Services at Seven Oaks Hospital, as well as Facility Manager for Milner Ridge Correctional Facility. His extensive expertise positions him as an asset to our organization.
A long-time resident of the Birds Hill Park area, Larry is deeply embedded in our equestrian community. He has held memberships in the Morgan Horse Association and the Manitoba Driving Society and is currently active in driving teams at the Ranch. “I have spent many occasions walking the trails, on horseback or sleighs,” says Larry. “I love the park and its history, and I am excited to contribute to its future.”
“We were particularly impressed by Larry’s analytical approach to problem-solving,” said Eryn Butterfield, VP of Equestrian Facility. “His ability to identify root causes and implement effective, long-term solutions is exactly what we need. Additionally, his established relationships with local contractors, park staff, and suppliers will expedite repairs and facilitate capital improvements.”
“Larry is eager to engage with the Manitoba Horse Council members and is open to innovative ideas that will enhance our facilities for show organizers,” said Diane David, Executive Director. “His commitment and enthusiasm for our facility and collaboration with our members will be instrumental in elevating our venue.”
The Manitoba Horse Council invites all members to extend a warm welcome to Larry as he steps into this pivotal role, and we look forward to his contributions in the upcoming show season and beyond.
