The Manitoba Horse Council Awards shine a light on individuals and groups whose dedication, teamwork, and compassion elevate our community—whether through leadership, mentorship, innovation, or outstanding service. By nominating others, you help recognize everyday actions that build trust, foster growth, and celebrate our shared passion for horses. Together, let’s tell the stories of those making a difference and inspire others to contribute their best.

The Awards committee encourages those submitting nominations to include as much detail as possible to help define their nominee’s impact and achievement.

General Requirements 

• Nominations are accepted only through the online nomination form.  
• Nominators must hold a valid MHC membership or be the parent of a minor who holds such a membership. 
• Candidates may not self-nominate, nor may their family members nominate them. 
•  Individuals may be nominated for multiple categories; however, nominations for each category must be submitted separately. 
• Candidates may be of any age or involved in any discipline and must hold a valid MHC membership at the time of nomination (note: nominees for the Equine Welfare Award are exempt from the membership requirement).
• Candidates must reside in Manitoba. 
• Two references are required for each nomination (name, email, and affiliation to the nominee). 
• The decisions of the MHC Awards Committee are final.

Categories are reviewed annually and are subject to change. The number of presented awards and categories may vary each year. There need not be an award in each category every year. Please note: Award recipients will only be recognized once for a given category; multiple nominations for the same individual/entity in that category are not permitted to ensure ongoing, province-wide recognition of contributions.
