Wendy Nelson is a well-known western performance trainer in western Canada. She operates Wendy Nelson Reining & Performance Horse in Cochrane, AB.
Wendy specializes in training Western Performance Horses with a focus on reining, ranch horse and horsemanship. She is also active in providing lessons ranging from beginner to advance along with coaching, showing successful across Canada and in the US and doing clinics for both beginner to advanced riders.
She is a certified Equine Canada (EC) High Performance Reining Coach. As an EC Mentor and Facilitator, she offers Western Rider Levels 1-4 through to Instructor and Coach Program for learning and certification. She is also a Master Evaluator for the Reining High Performance program. Wendy is a graduate of the highly accredited Equine Program, at Olds College with additional certification in Artificial Insemination and Advanced Breeding Management from Texas A&M University. Wendy has completed her CRC judging course and is an accredited Equine Canada Reining judge as well as a National Reining Horse Association (NRHA) judge.
Events covered include: ranch riding, ranch trail, working western rail, reining and horsemanship. Riders will be separated into smaller groups.
MQHA will be hosting their Dog Days of Summer Show on the Saturday, July 12 and Sunday, July 13. They will be offering the ranch riding, ranch trail, working western rail and reining classes. Arrangements have been made with Wendy to coach (at $100/day) those clinic participants who wish to show. This will be a cost over and above the clinic fee.
