Manitoba Horse Council

Manitoba Horse Council (MHC) is a not-for-profit organization representing clubs and individual members involved in equine activity in Manitoba. MHC is the recognized governing body for equestrian sport in the province; providing support, leadership and resources to develop athletes and protect the interests of Manitoba's equestrian enthusiasts.

> June 1, 2020 Update to Capri Insurance Frequently Asked Questions for individual members, commercial equine enterprises, equine professionals (but please note that Manitoba Provincial Guidelines override any insurance provider's position on coaching).

> June 1, 2020 - UPDATED - Manitoba is now in Phase 2 of a structured re-opening which does include organized amateur sport, however, Provincial Sport Associations (ie MHC) are required to file a Return to Play protocol to the Province via Sport Manitoba before activities are approved. Following Return to Play, MHC will be filing a Return to Competition draft protocol for approval, and MHC member clubs will be advised of progress. This is a day-by-day process and we are working as fast as we can to open up the horse riding community, but with provincial approval.

NOTE - When restrictions were tight, we were directing individual questions to the province's engagemb website. Now that we are in Phase 2, organized sports questions are no longer receiving accurate responses. Please enquire of Manitoba Horse Council at [email protected] to ask individual questions about Return to Play and Return to Competition.

> If you own a facility, MHC recommends checking this Return to Business Operations Framework. The link includes a Self-Declaration sign-in sheet for a facility, valuable in case contact tracing needs to be conducted.

> All businesses and venues are required to continue following physical distancing and stringent cleaning practices to protect both employees and customers. Changes in reopening schedules are at

Please note that provincial guidelines are being amended regularly as the province opens up so we recommend that you look to the website link above if you are unsure.
